Two lengths of dark walnut drawn back from a channel of near-black resin, their live edges facing each other across the gap. The grain runs in deep bands of chocolate and rust and swirls once at the heart of each board, where a knot pulls it tight.
A river table, and built like one: two live-edge lengths of walnut drawn apart around a channel of near-black epoxy, bonded and sealed under one continuous surface.
Deep chocolate heartwood against bright sapwood, around 1,010 lbf on the Janka scale. It lightens as it ages rather than darkening.
