Cloud and vein drift through pale stone the way light moves inside ice — cream giving way to honey and slate at the surface, then sinking somewhere deeper. The oval carries no corner to interrupt the drift, and each seam wanders quietly to its own end.
Stone, not wood: a solid marble top on two columns cut from the same block. There is no slab and no grain — the drift through it is vein.
